Adil S. Mohammed

I have been practicing law for 22 years.
I graduated from Seton Hall Law School and DePaul University.

My first legal position was as an Assistant Prosecutor in Essex County, Newark, New Jersey, where I handled mid-level crimes and conducted jury trials. Later, I worked at a civil litigation firm, where I participated in environmental litigation cases and transactional matters.

I decided to focus on the areas that reflect both my personal experience and my life story: Immigration, Bankruptcy, Real Estate, and Personal Injury.
I am a first-generation immigrant who came to this country at the age of six without knowing a single word of English.
I understand firsthand the challenges immigrants face in this country, especially in today’s climate.

I grew up in a family with limited financial resources and saw my parents go through two bankruptcy processes.
I experienced what it meant to have a home of our own when my parents bought their first house when I was eighteen. I watched them work tirelessly to give us the best possible life. These experiences inspired me to become a lawyer and to help people going through similar situations.

I was born in Mexico. At the age of 13, I emigrated with my family to the United States, facing from that moment a new language and the challenge of adapting to an unfamiliar culture.

The experience of starting from scratch in a new country shaped my life and gave me a deep sense of empathy for others who, like me, came to this country full of uncertainty but hopeful for a better life.

Since 2008, I have been working as a Senior Legal Assistant, collaborating with immigration attorneys and supporting hundreds of families seeking to obtain legal immigration status.

As an immigrant myself, I fully understand the challenges, the fear, and also the hope that come with this journey. Along the way, I discovered my passion for helping the immigrant community and making a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
